Chef-Partner Cornelius Gallagher has parted ways with Dragonfly to once again work for the Bohlsen Restaurant Group; Sous Chef Scott Gery will be bumped up to fill the empty executive chef slot. The French-focused Chateau Cherbuliez from Consulting Chef Todd English opened, while Station started serving up French with South African and Thai influences. First-time restaurateurs Henry Stimler and Menachem Senderowicz opened Jezebel, an upscale kosher restaurant with a menu created by Culinary Director Bradford Thompson. Steve Cruz (Rayuela) is the new executive chef at The Orchard House. Cómodo, the all-organic Siggy’s Good Food, a new Everyman Espresso location, Frozen Social, Crave Fishbar, Sullivan Street Bakery from Jim Lahey, and Macaron Café all opened.
Dani García aims to open a second outpost of his Manzanilla concept at the beginning of November in partnership with Yann de Rochefort. Red Farm will take over the Fatty Crab space later this year. Bouchon Bakery vet Wayne Surber aims to open a brick-and-mortar location of Lonestar Taco sometime later this year.
La Petite Maison has temporary shuttered until September while it gets a makeover and a new chef. Bistro Lamazou, Funini, and Saint’s Alp Teahouse all closed up shop.
